What is a PCIe Card?
A PCIe card is a network card with a PCIe interface that is used as an expansion port in a motherboard-level connection. Specifically, PCIe-based expansion cards plug into PCIe slots on motherboards of devices such as hosts, servers, and network switches. Nowadays, most computer motherboards have dedicated PCIe slots corresponding to PCIe cards. Generally speaking, the width of the slot will be the same as the width of the card or even wider.
